  • First day of classes

Only yesterday it was hot and sunny. It just has to rain on the day when my classes start.

Well, it wasn't raining when I left home this morning, but the rain started when I was on my way to the university.

I really ended up taking my bike with me, and I'm glad that I did, even if I was riding in the rain without a raincoat.

I'll have to say that a maths lecture first thing on a Monday morning wasn't really that cruel. Not that it was anything interesting either, except that I found out that I might be eligible for the advanced class. Aside from the administrative information, the lecturer started talking about vectors, which was of course familiar stuff from all the years before.

Despite the fact that the first lecture ended 5 minutes early, I was still late to the next one. Then again I took a wrong turn somewhere. This is the time when having a bike really made a difference. I was only 10 minutes late even if I went the wrong way. It was a really boring lecture though.

Normally I should have tutorial right after, but it's the first day and we haven't had a lecture for that subject yet, so it was cancelled. That gave me a much needed break to go and buy some food, and I also got to attend the first linguistics lecture where I now have a buddy to swap notes with. Then again, I already knew him from O-week.

I had another break after that, and during that break I met Reni, Jessica, and Anne. It's surprising that I managed to meet them on this huge campus.

After the break was the final lecture of the day, and the lecturers were late! No, it's not because people here don't bother about being on time, it's just some kind of confusion about locations. That lecture was just as boring as the computer engineering one though. May be I didn't make such a good choice after all...
