Month: July 2005

  • What a busy day! I actually stayed at school in the afternoon for the 4 unit maths class, just to see what it’s like.

Of course, that’s not the only thing I did after school. It’s Monday, which means, of course, more photos from the fabric club!

    Screen printingDog t-shirt

Screen printing somehow took up most of the two-and-a-half-hour lesson. In fact, it took us almost an hour before everyone finished cutting out the template because everyone was busy talking… I don’t know who talks more, the girls in the fabric club or the girls at school. May be the girls who are at school AND in the fabric club talk the most… Wait, I’m the only one from my school that’s in that class, and there’s only one other girl in the class that’s actually at school.

There’s a new girl in the class! She works in an art supply store, how interesting. It’s near where I live too, and I never knew that there was an art supply store in that area…

By the way, Maree actually took the (now somewhat well-known because I’ve been telling everyone?) empty bottle (from last week) for keeping her paintbrushes and other stuff.

  • Ahh my hand!

For once I actually remembered to wear gloves right from the beginning on Monday, but now I touched what I painted last time and it’s not dry yet, so now my hands are blue, even though it doesn’t show up very well on a photo.

Oh no the colours ran together

What’s worse, all the colours on this one has ran together as well.

I was aiming for rainbow camouflage but missed

I was trying to get a rainbow coloured camouflage pattern on this one, but obviously hills and dales isn’t the way to do it. Oh well, at least this one looks alright…

    The back's even worse

Or at least the front did. The back’s not that bad, but it could’ve been so much better if I didn’t forget to crease it up properly…

Told you that the photos from what I did on Monday will be up before next Monday… As for next Monday, I don’t care what Marion told me, I’m doing the screen printing on a t-shirt, even if the pattern is a dog. Alison, that will be for you!

Here I go again. More about that activity. I even told the “empty bottle story” to the whole class in chemistry. It’s not exactly the most interesting story, but it goes like this: Marion just used the last of a bottle of urea, so she had an empty bottle. She asked if anyone wanted the bottle. “Anyone want a perfectly clean bottle? (short pause) It’s a urea bottle.” At the end, no one wanted the bottle, so she threw it away. Someone else in the class, I think it was Vicky (not sure if she spells her name like this), said “you did a good job selling it”. Yeah right, who would want the bottle if they knew that it was a urea bottle? This was very appropriate for chemistry class because everyone seemed to be surprised when the teacher mentioned experiments with urea.

Oh no. Chemistry. I have to finish my chemistry summary booklets! Same for biology, and I have to summarise the stuff I did in physics and economics without the guidelines! Not to mention that I need to find related material for English. I still have a few weeks for that, but just for Monday I have to finish my maths homework, read the economics textbook (well that’s only a few pages but it adds up), and finish everything that I need for Tuesday. (I’m not going to miss my activity even if it means spending most of the weekend doing my homework… Am I obsessed with it, or do I just have obsession in my mind because of English? You decide.)

Suddenly I have so much work that I don’t even have time to add lyrics to the artists that I moderate any more. I was looking forward to the day when I could sign up to moderate artists on Letssingit, but now that I’m the moderator for Fool’s Garden and the Divinyls I don’t even have time to copy their lyrics to the site.

If anyone wants to, go and submit the Fool’s Garden lyrics that aren’t already on Letssingit. They’re available at the Fool’s Garden official site.

  • Surprise! It’s Monday and I don’t have any photos from fabric club to post. (They’ll be up before the next lesson though)

There’s a new girl in the class though, finally there’s someone nearly as young as I am! (She’s in year 11 just like me)

For once, I’m actually the one to ask weird questions. How do you make yellow darker? (We don’t have black)

On my way home the radio actually played “I Touch Myself” by Divinyls, I thought that song is from almost 10 years ago? I’m surprised that they actually have something like that, not new but not classic either. (The kind that I like)

  • I arrived at Sydney last night, and I realise that I actually miss my home here when I went back to Hong Kong. This is my home now.

School will start tomorrow and I still haven’t done my homework. What a typical thing! Only it never happened to me before, and I’m actually more worried about something else. I know, I have bad priorities. All that stuff I said when I first arrived don’t really mean anything after all. Half a year and I’m already back to being what I used to be, and it’s also typical for me to be enthusiastic at school at the beginning of the school year and lose it at the middle of the year, only that I kept up for two terms this time.

I really expected this. A boring entry at the day before the term starts, about how I’m back to my old bad habits again.

  • I went shopping with Leeann and Alison today. It’s the first time I’ve seen them this year, and the first time we’ve went out ever since (at least) we started year 11. Look what I bought!
    So darkShiny!
This doesn’t look like a lot, but I got lots of white clothes too. Obviously, those won’t be white for long because they will be dyed when the next term starts. I know I’ve somehow became very enthusiastic about that class, not only because most of the clothes that I’ve bought on this trip to Hong Kong are white ones for painting and dyeing, but also that I actually try to look up the chemicals in dyes even though I don’t actually need to know it for anything and I normally hate research.

See? The term hasn’t even started and I’m already going on and on about it. Anyway, here are the sticker photos from today:

    Sticker 2
    Sticker 3
I should practise using the scanner, these aren’t really scanned properly. Actually, I should try scanning a mirror. (Since there’s the idea of photocopying a mirror in physics, so why not scanning?)

  • Guess what! I’m now back in Hong Kong! My internet connection was down when I returned from the Snowy Mountain, so I didn’t have internet access for five days! Somehow that reminds me of Lucy at the Gym… Normally I’m always online like Lucy’s at the gym!

Here are some photos from the Snowy Mountain:
I didn’t get any action shots of myself skiing or snowboarding, but look at the snowmen that I found them outside the hotel!
