My second time to the fabric club… We’re doing block printing today, on the painted fabric from last week…

To block print, of course you would need a block first… Burning designs into the polystyrene is much easier than carving it with a knife… After carving the block, it’s rolling paint on it! Typical how the flaws you never noticed when carving the block only show up when you have paint on the block… At least this block was definitely better than the ones I made at school when I was in year 8… (or was it 9? I don’t remember…)

Now for the printing… One here, and one there, and another one here… This is repetitive! Having to roll the paint on each time was why it took so long… This is the fabric I painted last week… When I was painting it, at first it seemed like that I was going to mess it up, but now it looks a bit better when it’s dry…

On second thoughts, even if I didn’t mess it up the first time, the block printing definitely did… Well, with blocks like this, I really shouldn’t be expecting much… The blue block didn’t even print properly…
