ChocSoc @ Max Brenner!
At first, I thought that Double Bay seemed like a difficult place to get to, but it was actually quite straight-forward. I was supposed to meet Zinah and Avari at the train station, but their train was delayed, so I went to the toilet to change my clothes while I was waiting, even though the toilets at that station were inside the ticket barrier. It was kind of funny that Dotto ended up driving the group to Max Brenner, leaving me to ride there on my own from the station. What’s even more funny is that I actually got there first. xD Then again, it was easy for me, because I can just use the pedestrian crossing to get to the other side of the road, and when I get to Max Brenner there’s a lamp post right outside for me, whereas with a car it takes longer to turn around, and it also takes longer to park. Of course, it also helped that Max Brenner is downhill from the train station.
Time to make everyone hungry:
I got this chocolate pizza, and I actually finished it on my own. (See, this is why I’m titled “Chocolate-Guzzler” in the ChocSoc Facebook group. xD)
Everyone else’s food look yummy too.
Look how hungry Dotto is! xD
After eating all this chocolate, some of us decided that it was time to explore the area a bit. It was a chance for the others to try riding my bike. Then again, trying it on the footpath wasn’t really as good an idea as it looks in these photos.
I’m just posing in front of it because Avari offered to take this photo for me. xD
We soon found a park nearby to do more cycling though. Hmm, good start… next I’ll be encouraging them to get their own bikes so they can ride with me. xD
Actually, we did lots of other random things too… like jumping up and down. (Is this really a good idea after eating all that chocolate? xD)
Here’s a group photo.
We tried to do some drama effects too… Here, Avari and Donna are screaming. (Don’t people in dramas usually scream into the ocean though?)
By the time we decided to leave, it was already dark, but I still rode all the way home anyway. (“Chocolate-powered transport” indeed… I ate so much chocolate. Good that I actually do some exercise afterwards.) I’m feeling a lot more confident now. I actually quite like cycling at night. It’s kind of awkward that some people whistle at me though. Then again, those tend to either be motorists on the other side of the road or pedestrians, so they’re gone quickly anyway. (I suppose any motorist who’s actually moving in the same direction would be too annoyed to whistle. xD)
Actually, I’ve been riding in the rain in the past week too. Of course, I managed not to get caught in the worst of the rain, but I still spent a lot of time on wet and slippery roads. It’s like, I’m on a risk-taking spree! xD Maybe I’m just losing my sense of danger (like I ever had any)? Come to think of it, I’ve been more forgetful lately too. Time to stop doing so much.
Come to think of it… what have I been doing lately?
There was a ChocSoc exec meeting on Wednesday. This has to be the funniest part:
Neer was too full after eating all that chocolate. xD Of course, there was the usual “I got there before everyone else because I didn’t have to walk” thing. Going in when there were already so many people and asking for a table for ten actually seemed kind of funny at the time too.
There was Critical Mass on Friday too. Not surprisingly, there weren’t many people. We ended up going to Newtown via Sydney Uni. That’s the last place I expect to be on a long weekend. Typical. xD I’ve noticed that the lights at the Transient Building were on. Why are the lights on when the place is closed? Then again, the most important thing to me was that it was actually closed. I’m so glad to have a long weekend. I’ve been doing too much lately.
